RENTAGUIDE Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") as follows.

1. Personal Information

"Personal Information" shall refer to "personal information" as defined in the Personal Information Protection Law, meaning information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other descriptions contained in such information, as well as data relating to facial appearance, fingerprints, voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual solely from that information (personal identification information), such as the insurer number on a health insurance card.

4. Change of Utilization Purpose

5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company shall not provide personal information to a third party without the prior consent of the user, except in the cases listed below. However, this excludes cases permitted by the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations.

When there is a need to protect the life, body, or property of a person, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person concerned.
When there is a special need to improve public health or promote the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person concerned.
When it is necessary to cooperate with a state organ, a local public entity, or an individual or entity entrusted by them in executing the affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the person concerned is likely to impede the execution of those affairs.
When the following matters have been announced or publicly notified in advance, and the Company has filed a notification with the Personal Information Protection Commission:

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in the following cases, the recipient of such information shall not fall under the category of a third party:

When the Company entrusts the whole or a part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the utilization purpose.
When personal information is provided accompanying the succession of business due to merger or other reasons.
When personal information is jointly used with a specific person, and the Company has notified the person concerned in advance, or has made it easily accessible to the person concerned, of the fact, the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the joint users, the utilization purpose of the joint users, and the name or title of the person responsible for the management of the said personal information.

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

When the Company is requested by the person concerned to disclose their personal information, the Company shall disclose it to the person concerned without delay. However, the Company may decide not to disclose all or a part of the information if disclosure falls under any of the following, and if a decision not to disclose is made, the Company shall notify the person concerned without delay. A fee of ¥1,000 per request will be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the person concerned or a third party.
When there is a risk of seriously impeding the proper implementation of the Company's business.
When it would violate other laws and regulations.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as usage history and characteristic information, shall not be disclosed in principle.

7. Correction and Deletion of Personal Information

If a user determines that the personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request the Company to correct, add, or delete (hereinafter referred to as "Correction, etc.") their personal information through the procedures stipulated by the Company. If the Company deems it necessary to comply with the request received from the user in the preceding paragraph, the Company shall carry out the Correction, etc. of the said personal information without delay. If the Company has carried out the Correction, etc. pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to carry out the Correction, etc., the Company shall notify the user of this without delay.

8. Suspension of Use, etc., of Personal Information

If the Company is requested by the person concerned to suspend the use or erase (hereinafter referred to as "Suspension of Use, etc.") their personal information on the grounds that it has been handled beyond the scope of the utilization purpose or was acquired by wrongful means, the Company shall conduct the necessary investigation without delay. Based on the results of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if the Company deems it necessary to comply with the request, the Company shall carry out the Suspension of Use, etc. of the said personal information without delay. If the Company has carried out the Suspension of Use, etc. pursuant to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, or has decided not to carry out the Suspension of Use, etc., the Company shall notify the user of this without delay. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if the Suspension of Use, etc. involves a large amount of expense or if it is otherwise difficult to implement the Suspension of Use, etc., and if necessary alternative measures can be taken to protect the user's rights and interests, the Company shall take this alternative measure.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy

The contents of this Policy may be changed without notifying the user, except for matters otherwise stipulated in this Policy or by law. Unless separately determined by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
